Geography
Town
- The Town of Reading's eastern edge is prime location for fruit growth, particularly grapes. Seneca Lake creates a microclimate that moderates temperatures in the spring and fall, allowing fruit crops to survive. The existence of wineries is common along the eastern edge of the town.
- State Highways in Reading include 14, 14A, and 226.
- County Routes in Reading include 23, 27, 28, 29, and 30.
- All roads other than state and county are maintained by the Town of Reading Highway Department.
- Reading contains within its southeastern border a small portion of the Village of Watkins Glen.

Reading is bordered by the Towns of Tyrone, Orange, Dix, and Starkey to the North (not shown here, but part of Yates County) as well as Seneca Lake.

- Schuyler County is located in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.
- Schuyler County is one of the state's smallest and least populated counties, containing 19,224 residents, according to the 2000 U.S. Census.
- Schuyler County is bordered by Chemung County to the south, Steuben County to the west, Tompkins County to the east, and Yates and Seneca Counties to the north.
