Mr. Lohmann began teaching at Newark Valley in 1972. He received his BS in Secondary Education English from Fredonia and his MA in Literature from Cortland. Presently he teaches English 11, AP Langauge and Compostion, Theatre and Speech. He also advises two extracurricular activities: Valley Masquers and the Nor Ti Yorkers. He serves on the district's ELA Committee and Literacy Team. Each spring he is also a reader for the AP Language and Composition exam. Recently Lohmann was awarded a grant from Cornell University's Institute for European Studies Department to develop curriculum that explores the impact that World War I (The Great War) had on individual European artists.
